Join us on December 15, to celebrate the OC Justice Fund's fourth year in operation.

With the continuous support of community members like you, in the last four years, and in spite of a pandemic, the OC Justice Fund has continued to help many vulnerable community members, including:

  • Successfully distributed over $236,300 in bond funds, resulting in the freedom of 63 individuals from immigration detention, the reunification and healing of these individuals among their children, parents, families, and loved ones, and the opportunity to avoid further exposure to COVID-19 in detention;
  • Collaborated with elected and city officials, like the City of Santa Ana Mayor and Councilmembers, to provide $300,000 for a legal defense fund available to all Santa Ana residents facing deportation;
  • Distributed $149,962 in one-time, emergency cash assistance funds, to Orange County residents directly impacted by the deportation and detention systems through collaboration with Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees and the California Immigrant Resilience Fund;
  • Founded a Fellowship Program, to help bond recipients to learn life skills that will enable independence into future professional opportunities.

Who is the OC Justice Fund?

The Orange County Justice Fund (OCJF) is dedicated to generating support for transformative and effective legal representation for some of the most vulnerable members of the Orange County community. OCJF was created in 2017 through a collaboration of attorneys, law professors, and grassroots leaders to ensure that no Orange County resident is forced to defend themself from deportation without an attorney and to provide support so that those individuals eligible to be released from detention can do so without being financially devastated.

 Alexis is one of the many bond recipients your donations have helped be released from immigration detention. He is a local artist & community leader whose courage to organize with individuals within Adelanto led to the release of many OC residents. Last year, his work "Untitled," sold for more than $100 at our 2020 Silent Auction. Learn more about what drives Alexis' fight for justice in this video.
